The best book adaptations are quite rare. The beauty that words hold, the detail, and the entrance of delicately worded scenes are often overlooked when turned into movies. Some say, they simply lose their essence and only become a plotline and nothing more.
Even though we agree with this that books when have been converted to movies, several minute details have been missed out on and how it made everything different, however, this has not been the case for all, fortunately. Some book adaptations have been truly remarkable and a treat to watch.

Based on the book of the same name, Hidden Figures, by Margot Lee Shetterly, bring forward the story of the untold heroes behind the NASA mission.
Three women of color, great mathematicians, just as if human computers play an integral role in NASA’s launch to space. It was a race against the Russians. The three ladies, often overlooked, especially due to their color, were the missing key they were looking for.
Beautifully directed, with everything being spot on from the book, this is a delight to watch that keeps you rooting for the women from the beginning till the end.
The movie is available on Netflix and Amazon Prime, so you have your pick here for the streaming, however, a good internet connection remains the primary key. The Lord of the Rings (The Trilogy)
Talking about classic book adaptations is not possible without mentioning The Lord of the Rings, written by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. The trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson does not disappoint.
Capturing the details right down to perfection is not an easy task, but The Lord of the Rings did it and made us feel as if it did effortlessly. From spot-on casting to keeping the entire essence alive throughout the trilogy, it is a treat to watch.
Fight Club (1999)
Who hasn’t heard about the very famous moving Fight Club starring our very own Brad Pitt, Jared Leto, Helena Bonham, and many more? What many people don’t know is that it is based on a novel of the same name written by Chuck Palahniuk.
A journey of frustration and rage in the novel has been masterfully captured in the film. You might think of it as just another fight club story, but it is so much more. With contemporary cultures underlying, and the nightmares to exist, it must be watched at least once.
The Social Network (2010)
Another excellent mention in this list is The Social Network adapted from the novel The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. The success of this movie however was no accident at all.
This dead-on adaptation makes every minute a great watch for all. Yes, it is hard to get into Harvard, but once you do, you open the door to another realm of privilege, and benefits. The story is about the founding of Facebook and everyone involved in this groundbreaking deal.
The direction, the acting, the setting, everything is no space less than perfection.
Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
A little to the bright and fun side too!
Crazy Rich Asians movie is an adaptation of a book of the same name by Kevin Kwan. The book was written in 2013, and voila, in 2018 we got to watch the movie and it was an experience. The readers who read and enjoyed the novel equally enjoyed the movie, and rightfully so.
With the accuracy as detailed in the book, the movie itself is an absolute delight. It’s a must-watch and especially with the dive into Singapore’s high society, it is an intriguing glimpse.
